Why choose this district?
For a one good reason: San Lorenzo area it is not a tourist area!
Definitely a good choice if you want to experience Rome in a more authentic way!
San Lorenzo is a very hip and young neighbourhood. Being situated near Sapienza University it has an energetic vibe. There are many university students as well as a fun mix of older people.
Several young families that have stayed to live and to work in the same place they were students!
You can enjoy the fresh energy and “LIFE” in all its facets.
The city centre is not as far away as you might think. If you are a good walker and you like to take a break with an espresso in a small Cafe as you pass by, then you won’t think of exploring Rome differently anymore!
Supermarkets close by and nice little places to eat something or to get amazing coffee in the morning are just across the road. Everything you could want is close at hand!
Moreover, this is a relaxed and safe area.
The lovely area of San Lorenzo perfectly adapts to all kind of stays. We are located in a more calm part of this district, surrounded by the nicest restaurants and shops of the zone. I hope that you will feel at home as much as I do. I was born in the San Lorenzo district and I am sure that you will appreciate the nice shopkeepers and the nutty sweets from the bakery down the street, the great pizza or the exquisite chocolate of one of the oldest chocolatiers in Rome. The perfume of the fresh fruit of the open-air market , the cappuccinos , the homemade ice-creams and the dishes of truly Roman restaurants as well as a nice hamburger…
all at an affordable price!
San Lorenzo area is the seat of University of Rome “Sapienza”, National research center, Hospital “Umberto I “.
My 3 friends and I enjoyed our stay at Daniela’s apartment. The space was very modern, chic, and most importantly clean. Although the apartment isn’t located in the central tourist areas of Rome, it’s not too far (about 15-25 minute taxi ride). To save money, luckily you can easily take bus transportation, and a bus stop is located right in front of the apartment. There are also plenty of yummy and cheap food spots across the street and down the block. Alice Pizza across the street and the gelato shop a couple doors down are a must!
A superb apartment in San Lorenzo. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable with a beautiful terrace over looking the main street – lovely to relax in after a days sightseeing in Rome. There is easy access into the centre of Rome via the local bus or tram and we loved discovering the local cafes and restaurants. The amazing chocolate shop and cafe ,which is 2 mins away, was an added bonus much appreciated by our two teenagers.
This was a nice apartment and represents a great value for staying in Rome. The location is away from the big tourist attractions but the apartment is convenient to both Tiburtina and Termini train stations. And being near a university, it has a young, energetic vibe. It is on a street that has everything in walking distance: caffe, gelato, bars, restaurants, bank atm, supermarket, park, etc. It is about 15 walk to the metro. The bus stop is closer, just steps away. Two thumbs up!
Perfect apartment! Perfect hosts! Very clean, big activity area, and fully equipped. Easy transportation, close to the central area, but quite. Supermarkets, restaurants and pubs are few minutes walking distance away. Highly recommended to families and couples!
Apartment is in a great location as long as you don’t mind a 30-40 min walk to main sights or it’s easy enough to jump on public transport – we just chose not to because we were travelling with a Pram !
Nevertheless, the walk was fine and we got to see more authentic Rome and not just the tourist sights. There is lots of eating places and supermarkets around the apartment top.
It is outside the city walls but there are 2 buses and 2 trams with 5-10 minutes’ walk. Local cafe and pizza restaurant are excellent and there a 2 supermarkets close by. Super stay, very organised and lots of local information. High recommended.
Le quartier estudiantin est légèrement en-dehors de la zone touristique mais bien desservi pour aller au centre.
Super nice apartment in the university area. Next to Roma Termini Central station (10/15min walking), the area is full of restaurants and pubs.
The location is ideal- not too far from center of ROME and with easy acces to public transportation. Also the local area was very nice and quiet. Daniella is a very effective and helpful host and we can only strongly recommend the place and when going back to ROME again DANIELLAS appartment will definitely be our first choice.
Daniela, the core of the business (in roman dialect “core” means heart). Mine is the pleasure to talk to you, to manage the reservations and to coordinate and control everyone’s task and to make sure that everything flows just nice. I do my best to make everything perfect at your arrival, so that you can enjoy your stay and keep a beautiful memory.
